Anagni recently hosted the inaugural edition of the forum “Rimland, Anagni Heart of the Mediterranean”, an event organized by the Presidency of the City Council and the newspaper Anagnia.com, part of the Recchia Group. This initiative placed the city at the center of the international debate on geopolitics, economics, and development. With the participation of high-profile experts, the event proved to be an outstanding success, garnering attention from the public and institutions alike while laying the groundwork to become a recurring event in the years to come.
A Program Packed with Content
The event was structured into two main thematic sessions. The first, titled “Global Mediterranean”, featured contributions from experts such as Hon. Andrea Manciulli, Director of Institutional Relations at the Med-Or Foundation, alongside researchers specializing in strategic ties between Italy and the broader Mediterranean region. Discussions emphasized the Mediterranean’s critical role as a global economic and geopolitical hub, managing 20% of the world’s maritime traffic despite accounting for only 1% of global waters.
The second session, dedicated to “Competitive Globalization: Impacts of Conflicts on Markets and Territories”, included prominent figures like Lorenzo Guerini, President of COPASIR; Sen. Michele Barcaiuolo, member of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee; and economic advisor Davide Bergami. The session focused on how global dynamics, including conflicts and instability, directly impact markets and daily life.
A Multidisciplinary Dialogue
Moderated by journalist Igor Righetti, the panels facilitated strategic discussions between institutional, academic, and industrial representatives. Notable participants included Eugenio Samori of Safra, Luca Visca of Euroambiente, and local authorities such as Anagni’s mayor, Daniele Natalia. The presence of local companies and institutions highlighted the importance of connecting global reflections to local realities.
A Growing Success
This initiative showcased Anagni’s potential to lead on strategic issues, promoting a new vision that merges local development with global perspectives. The success of this inaugural edition encouraged the organizers to confirm plans to establish Rimland as a recurring event, further enriching the city’s cultural and institutional landscape.
The event received widespread acclaim from participants and speakers, marking an important moment for dialogue on critical issues affecting both the Mediterranean and the world. With Anagni at the center of this debate, Rimland is set to solidify its role as a reference forum for the future.
